This information was originally a book written in 1995 and recently updated in 2011. Please note that all of the general recommendations included here are based on personal experiences over the years. and are not the most commonly agreed upon by avian specialists, breeders and owners. However, like people Quaker parrots have there own distinct personalities and quirks; what works for one owner may not work for you.

Al Jordan was a breeder of many species of exotic birds for over 20 years until he retired in 2005. Out of all the birds he raised including African Greys, Cockatoos, and Macaws, the Quaker parrots were always his favorite.

He and his wife Teresa wrote the first informative book on Quaker parrots which can still be found today on websites like Ebay and Now since he doesn’t breed them anymore he has decided to re release an updated 2.0 version of the book online for free.
